Radisson reinforces south Asian presence

Radisson Hotel Group is partnering with The Centurion Hotel Private Limited to create a new hotel in the fastest growing provincial capital of Nepal.

The 145-room Radisson Biratnagar is expected to open in Q3 2024 and is intended to play an important role in welcoming local and international tourists to experience a new phase of hospitality in Nepal.

New landmark

The hotel is set to become the new landmark of Biratnagar, bordering the Indian states of Bihar and West Bengal, with its strategic location and state-of-the-art facilities.

When open, guests will have access to comfortable and spacious rooms along with amenities including a swimming pool, fitness centre, spa, specialty restaurants, and a 10,000 sq ft of banquet area.

Five year plan

Zubin Saxena, MD and VP, operations, south Asia, Radisson Hotel Group, said: “As we continue our foray towards our ambitious five-year expansion plan for south Asia, we are delighted to sign this new property in Nepal. Being a tourist hub for travellers globally, Nepal is poised to emerge as a strong economic and investment hub for multiple sectors in the years to come. Our growth in the country will continue to be driven by strategic, brand-defining hotel signings and openings that will provide a major uplift to our portfolio and broaden our offerings for guests and owners.”

The Honourable Moti Lal Dugar, chairman – Centurion Hotel Private Limited, added: “I have always found Radisson to be one of the best in terms of taking care of the needs of guests while delivering delightful hospitality and we are thrilled to introduce this world-renowned brand to Biratnagar. I am happy to sign this agreement with Radisson Hotel Group and look forward to leveraging the brand’s strong recognition and the team’s deep expertise in the South Asian market to drive the success of the Radisson Biratnagar.”

Doubling footprint

Currently, Radisson has over 100 hotels in operation in south Asia. The signing of Radisson Biratnagar is a continuation of the group’s strong expansion across the region where it’s set to more than double its footprint with 148 hotels and resorts to be added by 2025.

This includes the 400-room Radisson Hotel Lahore City Mall in Pakistan, arriving in Q4 2023; Radisson Hotel Khulna, delivering 150 keys to Bangladesh in 2023; while both will be preceded by Radisson Blu Srinagar in Jammu and Kashmir, India, bringing 210 rooms online in Q4 this year.
