Radisson prizeotel brand to enter UK and Ireland with Dublin debut

Radisson Hotel Group has announced plans to open the inaugural prizeotel property for the UK and Ireland. This landmark property, prizeotel Dublin, is expected to open early 2025.

The signing of this property in Dublin follows a series of opening announcements for the affordable, high design hotel brand as it focuses on expanding across Europe.

Entry to the UK and Ireland

The landmark prizeotel Dublin will be located on James Street in the historic Liberties area of Dublin, which is just outside the medieval walled city. In this area now known as a vibrant cultural destination, old markets sit alongside Michelin-starred restaurants and global technology firms.

This property will enhance a growing collection of prizeotel sites across Europe. The brand currently has properties in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Belgium. In 2022, new prizeotel hotels opened in Bonn, Vienna and Münster. More openings are to be announced soon.

Commenting on the signing, Elie Younes, Executive Vice President & Global Chief Development Officer at Radisson Hotel Group, said: “We are very excited to announce the signing of our first prizeotel property in the UK and Ireland region after the brand’s fantastic growth across central Europe in 2022. We have a solid portfolio of Radisson Hotel Group brands across Ireland and this new property will be a welcomed addition.”

Kevin Beary, Managing Director of Amhola Capital Ireland, added: “We look forward to working with Radisson Hotel Group in delivering Ireland’s first prizeotel to the local market, an exciting project which will complement the adjoining hospital campus and benefit the local economy greatly in terms of job creation and business generation.”

“We believe Dublin prizeotel will be well received by the tourist and corporate market in an area which is underserved by quality hotel offerings. We also look forward to working with the wider Radisson Hotel Group brand offerings including prizeotel on other viable projects and locations both in Ireland and in Continental Europe as good development opportunities arise.”

A focus on technology and sustainability

Prizeotel Dublin will feature 145 guest rooms, which are to be decorated in a relaxed urban style. Public areas of the hotel will include a restaurant and bar spanning 250 sq m of the lobby with the aim to encourage guests to ‘meet-and-mingle’.

All prizeotel properties are designed to offer a midscale lifestyle experience with a unique and eclectic personality at an affordable cost. Each hotel in the collection is distinguished by its bright, energised spaces that inspire guests to work, network and socialise.

Technology and sustainability are both key focuses for the brand. Guests can expect digital check-in and tech-focused rooms at all of the brand’s hotels. The new-build prizeotel Dublin will be a certified green building aiming for BREEAM certification, implementing the Hotel Sustainability Basics as well as prizePromise for 100% carbon neutral stays.

The new hotel in Dublin will be within walking distance of The Irish Museum of Modern Art (IMMA) and within easy reach of the Guinness Brewery and Storehouse, Dublin Zoo and St Patrick’s Cathedral.
