Radisson Hotel Group has introduced its second brand to Tunisia with the launch of Radisson Hotel Sfax.

This opening in the historic city of Sfax is a part of Radisson Hotel Group’s 2022 growth and development plans for the African continent.

A historic locale

A part of plans to open over a dozen new hotels in Africa, bringing the group’s portfolio to just over 100 in operation or under development across the continent, Radisson Hotel Sfax is now welcoming its first guests in a location that places you within walking distance of Sfax’s city centre and medina.

In this location, guests are given an introduction to the many cultural sites this city is known for, including a number of landmarks dating back to 849 AD. Sfax has more UNESCO World Heritage Sites than any other city in Tunisia, with its medina originating from the 9th century AD.

Commenting on the opening, Tim Cordon, area senior vice president in the Middle East and Africa at Radisson Hotel Group, said: “We are thrilled to expand our presence in Tunisia with the opening of our third hotel in the country.”

“Situated on the southern shores of the Mediterranean Sea, Sfax is both a tourist destination offering centuries of culture and history, and one of Tunisia’s most important business centres.”

“As such, we’ve designed Radisson Hotel Sfax to cater to both leisure and business travellers. We hope that it will form an important part of the city’s hospitality and business offering.”

Catering for business and leisure

The new hotel is home to 88 bright and contemporary rooms and suites, which all provide views over the city.

Amenities within this property bring gastronomy, events and wellness into the hospitality experience. Guests can dine at La Medina, featuring live cooking stations, and the ninth-floor Younga Sky, which provides impressive views over the city and coastline.

The hotel’s wellness offering spans Eden Spa, comprising three massage cabins, a herbal tearoom, relaxation rooms, a sauna, Turkish hammam, sensory shower, exfoliation cabin and affusion shower, as well as a sun terrace and outdoor pool.

These lifestyle facilities are then joined by seven fully equipped meeting rooms and a separate breakout area, making this hotel the first internationally branded upscale hotel in the city to cater for corporate clientele.

On the opening, Jean Marie Didier, general manager of Radisson Hotel Sfax, commented: “It is my honour to lead this highly dedicated and motivated team as we welcome guests with the same high level of professional service they’ve come to expect from Radisson hotels around the world, and play an active role in the local community.”
