Radisson announces new signings in Spain, Portugal and Italy [Infographic]

Radisson has ambitious goals for Europe’s sunny south. Find out now which new properties are set to launch there in the coming years.
Radisson Hospitality AB, which is part of the Radisson Hotel Group, has recently announced new signings in Spain, Portugal and Italy which mark the latest progress for Radisson’s expansion plan in Southern Europe.
The group will specifically be adding new properties in Madrid, Bilbao and Seville, with two new Radisson RED hotels coming to the Portuguese cities of Lisbon and Porto. Meanwhile, the group is bringing three new properties to Milan and Rome, two of Italy’s key markets.
All told, these deals will result in 560 rooms in Portugal and another 550 rooms in Italy.
“We continue accelerating our expansion plan in Southern Europe. With nine strategic recent signings in Rome, Milan, Porto and Lisbon, we now add three new Spanish hotels in Madrid, Seville and Bilbao,” said Elie Younes, executive vice president and chief development officer for Radisson Hotel Group.
“Leveraging Radisson Blu as the largest upper-upscale brand in Europe, we now introduce to our owners and guests further opportunities in premium lifestyle with two Radisson Collection hotels in Seville and Bilbao and a bold Radisson RED in the great city of Madrid. This is thanks to the trust of our owners and the great efforts of our people.”
A busy 18 months for Radisson
The past year and a half have been a fruitful one for Radisson Hotel Group.
In less than 18 months, the Radisson Collection has come to boast 30 hotels and nearly 6,000 rooms in operation or under development in Europe.
In addition, Radisson RED has 22 properties there with around 4,300 rooms in operation or under development. Together, the brands have accumulated properties in global cities such as London, Paris, Brussels, Moscow, Rome, Milan, Dubai, Stockholm, Copenhagen, Liverpool and more.
Key signings have included the recent addition of the iconic May Fair London, A Radisson Collection Hotel, while Radisson RED has signed several hotels across Europe – including properties in the Nordics and Baltics.

RADISSON RED MADRID — This new Radisson RED hotel features around 200 rooms and will open its doors in 2021 in downtown Madrid.
It will become the Radisson RED brand’s new flagship property in Europe with an unprecedented emphasis on technology, featuring an automatic no-queue check-in and app-based service personalization among other developments.
Its ground-breaking, youthful urban design and stunning public areas will turn it into a meeting point for the city’s creative and artistic community.
RADISSON COLLECTION HOTEL, MAGDALENA PLAZA SEVILLE — Set in the historic centre of Seville, one of Spain’s most beautiful cities, the hotel will open its doors in Q2 2020.
The Radisson Collection Hotel, Magdalena Plaza Seville will have 89 bedrooms across two buildings, as well as exciting new facilities including a rooftop swimming pool, terrace with lounge bar, solarium, gym, spa and a fine dining restaurant dedicated to local cuisine.
RADISSON RED LISBON OLAIAS — Set to open in 2021, the new-build Radisson RED Lisbon Olaias will arrive in the vibrant Olaias neighbourhood of Portugal’s capital, with excellent transport connections to the city centre.
It will be the group’s second property in Lisbon, alongside the Radisson Blu Hotel, Lisbon, and will add to Radisson RED brand’s presence across the Iberian Peninsula. The hotel will feature 290 rooms, an OUIBar + KTCHN, a gym and a rooftop pool.
RADISSON BLU GHR HOTEL, ROME — Set to arrive in Italy’s most popular tourist destination, the Radisson Blu GHR Hotel, Rome will provide guests with a unique opportunity to experience the best of the Eternal City’s historical, cultural and sporting attractions.
Due to be fully renovated by Q1 2021, Radisson Blu GHR Hotel, Rome will feature 297 rooms, including 41 junior suites and 10 suites. Guests can enjoy a wide range of delicious dishes and locally inspired drinks at the hotel’s restaurant & bar and take in the views of the Eternal City from another rooftop restaurant.
