Marriott International’s Moxy brand has roared into Buckinghamshire’s largest town with the opening of Moxy Milton Keynes, just a few miles from the iconic Silverstone race track.

This 210-key hotel, which lies at the heart of mixed-use scheme The Hub, is a fitting new addition to the Moxy portfolio.

A nod to Silverstone

Drawing on its location, close to the Silverstone racing circuit, Moxy Milton Keynes has adopted a motor racing theme. Its noteworthy design details include racing graffiti and memorabilia, a race track wall design and a lobby chandelier in the shape of a Formula 1 track.

Moxy’s signature amenities and service complement this inspired setting. Guests are greeted at check-in with a welcome cocktail, and the lobby boasts activities and games, as well as communal Now areas for unwinding, working and casual meetings.

Travellers, meanwhile, are encouraged to race a Formula 1 remote-controlled car in the lobby and enjoy tapas with handcrafted cocktails in the bar. And the hotel’s 210 guestrooms come with the latest technology and fast wifi; there’s also a high-tech meeting room, a 24-hour fitness centre and onsite parking.

New hotel leadership

Leanne Roberts has been named the hotel’s captain (general manager) and will draw on extensive hospitality experience to help her in the role.

“I know Milton Keynes well and Moxy’s playful spirit and unconventional hotel experience will bring something completely new to the area that will appeal to guests, locals and residents at our location in The Hub,” said Roberts. “I’m especially proud of the team that have been brought onboard, thanks to their wide-ranging skillsets that will bring an approachable and fun guest experience.”

Donovan Sumner, regional director of operations in the UK and Italy for Moxy Milton Keynes’ operating company Hotel Co 51, added: “We are really excited to bring Moxy to this town utilising Leanne’s local knowledge and experience to lead this standout opening. The Hub is a great location and, as always, we continue to push the boundaries of what guests expect.

“We always put a lot of thought into each hotel’s unique design theme, the technology available for guests, as well as getting a great night’s sleep. As we carry on opening more hotels, it’s evident that we’ve got the formula right.”
