Occupying part of a mixed-use development soaring 74 storeys high, the architecturally impressive Waldorf Astoria Jakarta has won our latest Project of the Week title.
This 182-key luxury hotel is certainly going to turn plenty of heads in Indonesia’s fast-growing capital.
A new landmark for Jakarta
It was way back in 2014 that Hilton Worldwide originally signed a management agreement with PT Putragaya Wahana to create Waldorf Astoria Jakarta. Part of the Thamrin Nine mixed-use development, this eagerly awaited hotel is now under construction, and expected to reach completion in the third quarter of 2023.
KPF – Hong Kong is behind the scheme’s striking architectural design and GA Group – London is looking after the interiors.
On completion, the five-star property will provide a luxurious accommodation option on Jalan MH Thamrin at the heart of the city’s central business district, around 32 km from Soekarno-Hatta International Airport. This location places it close to a raft of major employers, government offices and embassies, while the project also benefits from being within easy reach of countless restaurants, shops and tourist attractions.
Luxurious stays for business and leisure travellers
Prominently positioned within a landmark 74-storey development, Waldorf Astoria Jakarta will certainly be hard to miss. Inside, visitors will be accommodated across 182 guestrooms and suites designed to reflect the brand’s signature style.
During their stay, guests will be able to dine, drink, socialise and unwind at an all-day dining restaurant, a specialty restaurant, a destination bar and the Peacock Alley lobby lounge.
Events will be hosted in a 2,000 sq m ballroom and several state-of-the-art meeting rooms, complemented by a modern business centre. The proposed offering is completed by a health club and spa, outdoor swimming pool and library lounge.
Overall, the hotel aims to attract both business and leisure travellers coming to Indonesia’s vibrant economic, cultural and political centre.
