The bold W Marbella, which brings together the talents of Marriott International, Platinum Estates and Rockwell Group among others, has been crowned our latest Project of the Week.

Slated to open towards the end of 2021, W Marbella will bring the luxury brand’s signature Whatever/Whenever service and innovative programming to the glamorous beaches of the Costa del Sol.

A fitting location for W Hotels

Fitting in with its landmark location, this new five-star property is aiming to establish itself as one of Marbella’s most sought-after places to stay. W Hotels Worldwide, part of Marriott International, is developing W Marbella and The Residences at W Marbella in partnership with Sunrise Inversiones, an affiliate of Platinum Estates; New York-headquartered architecture and design firm Rockwell Group is also involved in the project.

The signing was announced in March 2017, becoming W Hotels’ third project in Spain and Marriott’s third hotel scheme with Platinum Estates.

The enticing resort will back onto the golden shores of Playa Real de Zaragoza, just a short drive from downtown Marbella and its famous nightlife. Helped by this privileged setting, it hopes to combine the brand’s signature style and programming with an unrivalled guest experience.

A new addition to Marbella’s social scene

Altogether, the resort will comprise 200 spacious guest rooms, including 26 suites and the Extreme Wow Suite, which is the brand’s take on a presidential suite. Facilities across the resort will include a signature restaurant and vibrant bar, an Away spa with beauty salon and juice bar, a state-of-the-art Fit space and two Wet pool decks.

The resort will cater for events across five meeting rooms and a covered terrace spanning more than 10,000 sq ft. The Beach Club at W Marbella, meanwhile, is designed to complement Marbella’s social scene.

Joining the hotel element, The Residences at W Marbella will comprise 100 low-rise condominium apartments and villas available to buy. Residents here will have access to all of the resort’s amenities and services, from reservations at the hotel’s restaurants and bars to in-residence dining, housekeeping and the brand’s Whatever/Whenever service.

W Marbella is currently planned for debut in late 2021.
