Impressive plans to create a luxurious hotel-and-residences scheme in the heart of the UK capital have earnt this development our latest Project of the Week crown.

Excitement is building around The Peninsula London, which is shaping up to be a stylish new addition to the hospitality scene in the city’s well-heeled Belgravia neighbourhood.

Grand architectural plans

The Hongkong and Shanghai Hotels, Prime Development and Grosvenor are working together to develop this under-construction property for The Peninsula Hotels. Hopkins Architects and BDP are collaborating on the architectural design, meanwhile, and Peter Marino Architect is focusing on the interiors.

This hotel will immediately stand out from the competition thanks to its colonnaded courtyard lobby and stately entrance off Grosvenor Place in central London. Adding further to the sense of grandeur, some of the guestrooms will overlook the gardens of Buckingham Palace.

A total of 25 exclusive luxury residences for sale will also be on offer.

British culture and cuisine

Thanks to its prime location near Hyde Park Corner, guests will be immersed in the best of British culture, art and cuisine. On completion, the property will reflect the distinct heritage and grandeur of Belgravia through its architecture and interiors.

From the colonnaded courtyard lobby, guests will be led to 190 stylish guestrooms and suites, all designed to offer an oasis of serenity in the city, along with the hotel’s luxury facilities.

Highlights of the forthcoming property include its multiple destination restaurants; The Peninsula Spa, offering revitalising wellness and beauty treatments; and a grand ballroom. And a one-storey shopping arcade will feature nine luxury retail outlets.

The Peninsula London is expected to open in early 2023.
