A luxury hotel-and-condo scheme promising impressive lake and city views, The Loren at Lady Bird Lake has won our Project of the Week accolade.

A striking eight-storey development is fast taking shape in south Austin. We take a closer look at what The Loren Hotel Group is planning to bring to the shores of Lady Bird Lake.

A showstopping lifestyle development

Located on a 0.93-acre site at the south-east corner of West Riverside Drive and South Lamar Boulevard, The Loren at Lady Bird Lake reaches up to 96 ft high, and is now being brought to fruition following several years of developing plans. The newbuild scheme’s 108 guest rooms and 26 two- to four-bedroom condos for sale – including two penthouses – will be joined by a rooftop restaurant, luxury spa, gym, swimming pool and retail offering. Event facilities will also be incorporated into the project, not least a bar and lounge spilling out onto an outdoor area with 180-degree views over the skyline.

In line with the ethos behind The Loren hotel brand, the property aims to provide both hotel guests and residents with a true live-work-play balance.

Forging local partnerships

Collaborators on this exciting project include developer Drenner Group, investor Hall Structured Finance, architectural studio Rhode Partners, interior designer Fleur-de-lis Interior Design and contractor Hoar Construction.

In addition, The Loren Hotel Group is working with City of Austin officials and Foundation Communities of Austin to upgrade the parkland on Lady Bird Lake’s southern shores, and provide a contribution towards the development of affordable housing in Austin.

The Loren at Lady Bird Lake follows on from the group’s flagship property at Pink Beach in Bermuda, which opened in 2017. The company’s planning to expand the Loren hotel brand further, targeting cultured and high-net-worth clientele through properties defined by breathtaking views, local experiences and attention to art and design.

The scheme is currently aiming to make its debut in the second quarter of 2022.
