Project of the week: the impressive Block 9 Boutique Hotel

By late 2020 Fargo, ND, will have a new, classy commercial centre complete with the stylish Block 9 Boutique Hotel.

Fargo, ND, will soon see the opening of the new Block 9 Boutique Hotel.

After extensive renovation, the former Sheraton Frankfurt Airport Hotel & Conference Center will become home to two hotels to cater to a wider audience.

Set to open in the third quarter of 2020, Block 9 boutique hotel is our project of the week.

We take a look inside this exciting new property, which will be the tallest building in the city of Fargo, North Dakota, when construction finishes.

Block 9 as new Fargo landmark

A new boutique hotel known as Block 9 looks set to become a landmark building in the North Dakota city of Fargo. This 4-star property is currently under construction and will be on a former surface car park at the corner of Broadway and Second Avenue North in the middle of downtown Fargo.

Construction has been underway since autumn of 2018, and the finishing touches are going to be put to the property so that it is ready in time for its grand opening in the autumn of 2020.

Developed by the Kilbourne Group, who have recently signed over the operating of the property to Aparium Hotel Group, Block 9 is intended to tap into the vibrant energy currently overtaking Fargo, and to become a stalwart of the local community between its hotel and F&B offering.

The hotel will occupy five floors of the 18-storey block, while the restaurant will entice both the public and guests with its ground floor location.

New centre of commerce

As well as the five-storey, 125-key hotel and ground-floor restaurant that will be under the operation of Aparium Hotel Group, Block 9 will also house the corporate headquarters of the R.D. Offutt Company, a farming and agrifood company that originated in Minnesota.

The towering structure will also benefit from a newly landscaped plaza at its foot, which will provide new outdoor space for families and friends to gather in. A number of residential units will also be housed on site, as well as ground-floor retail units, creating a mixed-use development that will cater to downtown Fargo as well as the community and city beyond.
