A $4 million transformation will rebrand Mercure Clear Mountain Lodge into a luxury hotel retreat, offering elevated suites, new event venues, and stunning panoramic views

We’re kicking off the year’s first Project of the Week with a look at Mercure Clear Mountain Lodge, a hotel project that’s undergoing a major transformation. Located just 35 minutes from Brisbane CBD, and expected to be finished in 2027, the property will bring an elevated experience to the City of Moreton Bay.

A tranquil escape with stunning views

Perched high atop 20 hectares of pristine bushland, Mercure Clear Mountain Lodge has long been a popular getaway for both locals and visitors. The hotel offers panoramic views of the Glasshouse Mountains and Moreton Bay, making it a perfect retreat for those seeking a peaceful, nature-filled escape. Guests enjoy well-appointed rooms, an on-site restaurant and bar, a day spa, and an outdoor pool.

The Lodge’s location also offers the perfect mix of relaxation and adventure with local hiking trails and nearby townships to explore.

$4 million transformation into luxury

In November 2025, the Mercure Clear Mountain Lodge began the $4 million redevelopment. The transformation is set to elevate the hotel’s offerings, creating a luxury experience that blends its natural surroundings with top-notch amenities.

As part of the makeover, guests can expect elevated guest suites with panoramic mountain views, new purpose-built wedding and event venues, and a resort-style pool and wellness spa. The signature restaurant and bar feature rich timber tones and sculptural lighting. The hotel renovation also includes a gym, billiard room, and private dining options.

Timeless charm and modern comfort

Ryan Shaw, Principal at Mandala Hotels & Resorts, the company behind the transformation, shared his vision for the site: “Our vision is to reimagine Clear Mountain as a premier wedding and tourism destination—one that blends timeless charm with refined hospitality.”

Guests will still enjoy the same tranquil bushland setting and warm hospitality, but with a new focus on high-end services and experiences. Whether guests are in the mood for a casual drink at the Lodge Bar or a gourmet meal at Mandy’s on the Mountain, this reimagined space will offer plenty of opportunities to unwind. And with more event facilities, it’s set to become a prime location for weddings and corporate events.
