This 244-key newbuild hotel on the East Coast forms part of a major mixed-use development that also features Marriott International’s much-anticipated future headquarters.

On opening, the property will showcase the Marriott brand’s full-service offering with the help of a host of amenities catering for business and leisure travellers.

A new Marriott hub

The Bernstein Companies, Boston Properties and TBC Hotels are working in partnership with Marriott International to realise the plans for this Marriott hotel, which will be created alongside the hospitality giant’s future headquarters in downtown Bethesda, Maryland. Gensler is behind the newbuild hotel’s architectural design and Rottet Studio is responsible for its interiors.

Marriott Bethesda Downtown at Marriott HQ is slated to make its debut this month.

Cutting-edge design

Guests can expect to find cutting-edge, sustainable design integrating modern amenities and state-of-the-art technology.

The hotel will house 244 guestrooms, as well as more than 8,000 sq ft of meeting and ballroom space. Facilities aimed at both guests and the general public will include a coffeeshop, a rooftop bar and lounge, and a contemporary neighbourhood restaurant offering breakfast, lunch and dinner, complete with outdoor dining on a pedestrian plaza.

This hotel will soon be joined by Marriott International’s landmark headquarters building, which is being designed to LEED GOLD standards. It’ll accommodate approximately 3,500 staff and encompass more than 785,000 sq ft of office space, along with a fitness centre, cafeteria and childcare centre.
