The AU$200 million Marriott Adelaide GPO Hotel scheme, which will feature 285 guestrooms plus four restaurants and bars, has won our latest Project of the Week title.

Marriott International, Greaton and Hassell are working together to realise their ambitious plans in South Australia.

Pairing heritage with contemporary design

Construction work on the AU$200 million (US$147 million), 285-key Marriott Adelaide GPO Hotel began in the spring of 2021, with the 16-level project expected to complete in the second quarter of 2023. It’s being developed by Greaton and will be operated by Marriott International’s Marriott brand.

This architecturally impressive property is being designed by Hassell, pairing the elegance of the city’s historic former General Post Office building with a modern tower.

Exciting new lifestyle venues

This forthcoming scheme will house 285 large rooms, including a presidential suite, along with an abundance of amenities for both business and leisure travellers. Guests can expect to find four restaurants and bars, a swimming pool and a fitness centre, as well as function and conference rooms.

With its enviable location at the heart of the city, the tower will also deliver sweeping views of the city, the Adelaide Hills and the metropolitan coastline.
