Kimpton debuts in the region
Kimpton Riyadh will be the first venture of IHG’s Kimpton brand in the Middle East and is set to debut in early 2025.
The 212-key hotel will be located in the King Abdullah Financial District, which is growing a reputation as Riyadh’s premier business and lifestyle hub.
KAFD is a key development in Riyadh, featuring 1.6 million square meters of office space, luxury residences, and world-class venues. It is also the largest LEED-certified mixed-use financial district in the world, underscoring its importance to the city’s economic ambitions.
Kimpton Riyadh is aimed at both business and leisure travellers, and the amenities will reflect the growing trend of work and leisure travel.
The hotel will offer a range of amenities, including several meeting and event spaces, five dining options, an outdoor amphitheatre terrace, a health club, and a swimming pool.
Growth in Saudi Arabia
IHG Hotels & Resorts signed a management agreement with The King Abdullah Financial District Management and Development Company (KAFD DMC) in March last year.
The development aligns with IHG’s broader growth strategy in Saudi Arabia, and also the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 tourism plan. The hotel aims to cater to the burgeoning number of tourists flocking to the Middle Eastern country.
Haitham Mattar, Managing Director, IHG Hotels & Resorts India, Middle East and Africa, said: “We remain committed to supporting the tourism goals of Vision 2030 across Saudi Arabia, and catering to the demands of the growing numbers of visitors to the Kingdom. We have identified a trend towards blended travel, with those travelling for work or business also seeking a lifestyle element to their stay.”
He added, “As we debut Kimpton Hotels in the region, we are confident that this luxury lifestyle offering can meet that requirement and we are looking forward to expanding further into the region in the coming years.”
