A 210-room Kimpton is going up in Fredericksburg, Texas, as the anchor of a 22-acre mixed-use development in Texas Hill Country

Kimpton Fredericksburg has reached a milestone (well, two milestones, since now it’s also considered this week’s Project of the Week). Recently, developer DC Partners and construction partner Satterfield & Pontikes announced the “topping out” of the hotel, meaning the final structural beam is in place. The five-star property anchors The Meuse, a 22-acre mixed-use development, and is scheduled to open in the second quarter of 2027. Below, we break down the hotel, the event space, and the district around it using info from our hotel database and the project’s original announcement.

The Hotel in Four Takes

The Rooms and Amenities

Kimpton Fredericksburg will have 210 guest rooms. Guests will also find a café, a restaurant and bar, and a fitness center. A 10,000-square-foot resort-style pool and a rooftop lounge round out the list. The hotel is planned with sustainable features and amenities meant for both visitors and locals.

The Event Space

The hotel will offer more than 18,500 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space. That includes an event barn and the rooftop lounge. The space is meant for weddings, celebrations, corporate retreats, and community events.

The District

The hotel sits inside a 73,200-square-foot retail district designed as a walkable, town-like setting. Current tenants include Double D Ranch, Fischer & Wieser, Jackson Ballard Art, Lucchese Bootmaker, and Padre’s Wine Company. Boutique retailers, artisan markets, tasting rooms, and chef-driven dining concepts are also planned.

The Team

Houston-based DC Partners is the developer, and Merriman is the architect. Satterfield & Pontikes Construction is the development partner on the build. “Our goal has always been to create a destination that enhances Fredericksburg’s position as one of Texas’ premier destinations while remaining authentic to the community that makes it special,” said Blake Berg, Senior Vice President of Development and Construction at DC Partners.

Why It Matters

Developers say Kimpton Fredericksburg will be the region’s first luxury lifestyle hotel of its kind. It is also expected to be one of the first in a line of new projects opening in the coming years. Fredericksburg’s growth continues to draw new developers and tourists, and this project shows how a hotel, retail, and event space can be planned together.
