Our latest Project of the Week title goes to the new-build JW Marriott Königshof taking shape in Munich.
Highlights of this 10-storey site are to include a wellness floor and a rooftop restaurant affording panoramic views over Munich.
A new chapter for the site
JW Marriott Hotels and Resorts is now working in partnership with developers Geisel Privathotels and Hotel Königshof München to create the new JW Marriott Königshof in place of the former Hotel Königshof.
Nieto Sobejano is behind the architectural design of this new-build property and Yabu Pushelberg is designing the hotel’s interiors.
The site will become this new Marriott hotel following the completion of its construction in late 2023. MHP Munich Hotel Partners is managing the new hotel.
Luxury, design and lifestyle
The architecturally striking property aims to become a highlight in the German hotel landscape. The structure follows the site’s traditional old royal court with its first-floor window-front shaped like a ship’s bow.
On opening, the angular new structure on Karlsplatz will feature 108 guest rooms and suites along with five-star amenities including a spa and rooftop restaurant and bar.
Overall, the property promises to combine luxury, design and lifestyle at a high level in this already storied location.
Many TOPHOTELNEWS articles draw on exclusive information from the TOPHOTELPROJECTS construction database. This subscription-based product includes details of thousands of hotel projects around the world, along with the key decision-makers behind them. Please note, our data may differ from records held by other organisations. Generally, the database focuses on four- and five-star schemes of significant scale; tracks projects in either the vision, pre-planning, planning, under-construction, pre-opening or newly opened phase; and covers newbuilds, extensions, refurbishments and conversions.
