Project of the Week: Jumeirah Kuala Lumpur
by Lauren Jade Hill | 15 Mar 2021 | Project of the Week, Projects
Architecturally impressive and promising an array of world-class facilities, the luxurious Jumeirah Kuala Lumpur has won our latest Project of the Week title.
Aiming to make its debut in 2024, this highly anticipated Jumeirah hotel-and-residences scheme will occupy one of the three skyscrapers that make up the Oxley Towers mixed-use development. We take a closer look.
A landmark development in Kuala Lumpur
Following the signing of a management agreement with Oxley Holdings, Jumeirah Group is gearing up to operate a 190-room hotel and brand 273 premium residences within the Oxley Towers complex in Kuala Lumpur.
The five-star Jumeirah Kuala Lumpur hotel will occupy the upper levels of one building, with the Jumeirah Living Kuala Lumpur residences on the floors below. The three towers making up this landmark mixed-use development will be connected via a retail podium and landscaped sky decks.
This striking architectural feat will be located at the heart of Kuala Lumpur’s City Centre precinct, placing sites such as Petronas Twin Towers, Maxis Tower and the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre within easy reach. Altogether, the development will cover an area of more than 12,500 sq m.
Jumeirah’s entry into Malaysia
The hotel’s 190 rooms and suites will be joined by an all-day dining venue, fine-dining restaurant and lounge and bar, as well as a Club Executive venue and a Talise wellness space comprising a spa, fitness centre and swimming pool. Owing to its privileged position, the hotel promises to serve up spectacular views across Malaysia’s capital.
Veritas Design Group is behind this landmark property’s architecture; interestingly, the curtain-wall showcases a distinctive diagonal grain, reflecting a recurring symbol in Malaysia’s indigenous textiles and weaving traditions. Aedas is looking after the scheme’s interiors.
For Jumeirah Group, this project will deliver its first hotel in Malaysia. The property is currently due to open in the second quarter of 2024.
