This week, Top Hotel News is turning to the bustling metropolis of São Paulo for our Project of the Week. The urban hotel will include grand features, including suspended gardens by a rooftop bar, a pool, meeting spaces and more - all perched within a mixed-use development.

Luxe living in Brazil

The yet-to-be-named property is one of the first properties from HQ Hotels & Resorts, a joint venture between SBE founder Sam Nazarian and Wyndham

The 100-room hotel is expected to open in 2028, and has roped in local partner INC Urban Developers to build the property.

HQ São Paulo will feature a number of public amenities, including an expansive garden on the ground floor and a top-floor bar featuring suspended gardens. A rooftop terrace will be created as a party destination, promising striking cityscape views.

The new hotel will also feature restaurants from award-winning sbe chefs Katsuya Uechi and Fabio Trabocchi.

“Owners today are looking for turn-key solutions and that’s exactly what HQ Hotels offers, combining sbe’s legendary lifestyle experiences with the unmatched scale and resources of Wyndham, the world’s largest hotel franchisor,” said Geoff Ballotti, CEO of Wyndham Hotels & Resorts.

“It’s a one-of-a-kind offering and one we believe has the potential to dramatically change the luxury lifestyle landscape.”

“HQ Hotel São Paulo will serve as the premiere accommodation for the modern traveler visiting Brazil’s most important economic centre,” said Sam Nazarian, founder and CEO of SBE.

“We look forward to bringing HQ Hotels’ unique and unprecedented blend of culinary excellence, lively nightlife concepts and best-in-class hospitality to this cultural capital.”

HQ starts strong

The São Paulo property will follow hot on the heels of the HQ-branded Hodges Bay Resort and Spa in Antigua, and HQ properties in both Montreux and Detroit

This builds on HQ Hotels’ goal to open 50 lifestyle Hotels & Residences by 2031 in a strategic alliance with Wyndham’s exclusive Registry Collection Hotels brand. Around half of these openings will be in the Americas.
