The latest scheme to be crowned our Project of the Week, Empire City Hotel sits within a spectacular development featuring a green terraced podium, three towers and a sky forest.

Fusing natural landscaping with public spaces and high-rise towers, the architecturally impressive Empire City development is set to become a new focal point for Ho Chi Minh City.

A dynamic vision for urban living

Promising to sculpt a symbiotic vision of nature and urban living, Empire City will consist of three skyscrapers rising above a mountain-shaped, garden-like podium on a central peninsula of the Saigon River. Its central tower will rise as high as 333 metres, with 88 floors housing a hotel, residences and a public observation deck, while its two accompanying towers accommodate offices and residential space.

Remarkably, the landmark tower will feature a series of undulating platforms, home to a sky forest that’ll be densely populated with a variety of local plant species and water features. And the very top of this tower will be home to ‘Cloud Space’, a one-of-a-kind setting for recreational activities and events boasting breath-taking views.

A nature-inspired mixed-use space

The podium that these three towers will be anchored to is intended to echo Vietnam’s famous landscape, characterised by an abundance of hills and terraced rice fields.

On visiting, guests will be able to explore layered open spaces that engage them in a variety of experiences throughout the urban garden. Here, commercial areas will be connected to recreational environments, with co-working space integrated into multiple floors.

This entire development is intended to demonstrate Büro Ole Scheeren’s vision for the future of city living.

The Empire City Hotel is to comprise 300 guestrooms, showcasing the interior design expertise of CallisonRTKL. An opening date has not yet been confirmed.
