2022 will see the launch of a stylish new beachfront hotel on the edge of George Town on Grand Cayman, which has just been crowned our latest Project of the Week.

When it opens, this five-star property will become Hilton Worldwide’s first hotel in the Cayman Islands, expanding the group’s presence across the Caribbean. We look into what future guests can expect there.

Beachfront wellness

In partnership with the management company NCB Group (Cayman Islands), Hilton is preparing to launch its newbuild 80-room Curio Collection by Hilton Cayman Islands hotel in June 2022. This upscale beachfront resort stands out for its focus on wellness and sustainability and the integration of renewable and energy-efficient technologies.

Spacious floor plans here range from one to three bedrooms. Moreover, each suite comes with various wellness amenities including in-room yoga mats, fitness equipment and lighting that regulates circadian rhythm. Executive and penthouse suites also come with private pools.

Sustainable luxury

While they’re onsite, guests will be able to tuck into farm-to-table dining at two restaurants and a poolside cafe, offering fresh produce including local seafood with organic wines and craft cocktails.

Facilities at the beachfront resort will include a fully equipped gym, rejuvenating spa and conference facilities, as well as a swimming pool with swim-up bar and fresh juice bar. Electric-vehicle rentals and complimentary bicycles will allow eco-conscious guests to ride along Grand Cayman’s Seven Mile Beach as well.

When the signing of this hotel was first announced, Rosa Harris, director of the Cayman Islands Department of Tourism, said: “It’s important for the destination to welcome accommodations that will provide exceptional experiences such as those offered by the Curio Collection by Hilton. Having a one-of-a-kind boutique property with wellness-focused offerings in our capital aligns with key segments of our visitor demographic and the strategic vision for tourism in the Cayman Islands.”

NCB Group prides itself on developing sustainable residential communities, beachfront condos and commercial buildings. This expertise can be seen in the hotel’s design and operation, where environmentally conscious elements such as solar panels, geothermal cooling, water recycling, SMART building management systems, LED lighting and solar water heating are being intelligently integrated.

The hotel will be part of the Hilton Honors guest-loyalty programme.
