Featuring contributions from the likes of Christou Design Group and Emerge Associates, Westin’s resort will celebrate its fabulous coastal setting in Western Australia.
This enticing new luxury hotel promises to provide another compelling reason for travellers to visit the tourism hotspot that is Margaret River.
Low-impact coastal luxury
Designed by architect Christou Design Group, the low-impact Westin resort promises to perfectly complement its idyllic coastal location, which has long been known for its expansive views across the Indian Ocean. Emerge Associates is behind the property’s landscape design.
The development site on the southern headland of Gnarabup Beach – just 10km from Margaret River’s town centre – benefits from direct access to the coastline’s celebrated Cape to Cape walking trail, proximity to national forests, and easy access to the region’s ancient caves and world-class surf breaks. It also lies in the heart of a famous wine region, near a number of award-winning wineries.
The proposed hotel’s expected to comprise 120 guest rooms, along with 400 sq m of event space featuring a pre-function area and separate entrance, three dining venues, and wellness facilities including Heavenly Spa by Westin, the Westin Workout fitness studio and a resort-style outdoor pool. Meanwhile, the Run Westin programme will lead joggers along various scenic trails.
A boost for the region
The exciting scheme represents a collaboration between Saracen Properties and Security Capital Australia. CBRE Hotels and King & Wood Mallesons acted as joint advisor to negotiate the management agreement with Marriott International.
It’s hoped that this hotel will generate additional revenues for the state after the challenges of the global health crisis, while also adding to the region’s hospitality landscape.
Westin Margaret River Resort & Spa is currently expected to open in the second quarter of 2023.
