Virgin Hotels is set to open its first Edinburgh hotel just a short walk away from many of the city’s iconic sights, including the Royal Mile and the Scottish National Gallery.
Guests can expect to find signature features like Chamber guestrooms, Grand Chamber suites and the Commons Club at the hotel brand’s latest outpost.
Old meets new
In a space combining old and new elements, Virgin Hotels Edinburgh promises to provide a dynamic accommodation option in the heart of the city’s Old Town.
The 225-key hotel is being developed by Jansons Property in partnership with owner Flemyn and manager Virgin Hotels. Siggis Capital is the asset management company, and ICA is overseeing the architectural side of the project.
Under the scheme, the India Buildings at 1-6 Victoria Street will be joined by a new extension. The design team is working carefully to deliver the hotel brand’s fun aesthetic, while preserving the site’s original features.
A new social hub
Altogether, the hotel will comprise 225 Chambers and Grand Chamber Suites. This accommodation will be joined by a number of drinking and dining venues, the brand’s signature Commons Club and several meeting spaces.
The hotel is currently under construction, with plans to open in the second quarter of 2022.
