Sun Development and Management Corporation is aiming to develop a stylish new Tapestry Collection-branded hotel in Music City.
Located on the site of the former Johnstone Supply building in Nashville, this 181-key newbuild will rise 11 floors high, and incorporate a retail and restaurant space on the ground level.
A brand-new development for Nashville
Concept and exterior design plans for this ambitious scheme were approved by The Metro Development and Housing Agency Design Review Committee in 2019.
At the time, Nashville Post reported that the developer planned to create the property at 501 Third Avenue South in Rutledge Hill, following the demolition of the former Johnstone Supply building at the south-west corner of the Third Avenue South and Peabody Street intersection. According to the article, Sun Development paid US$4 million for the 0.6-acre site in 2017 and enlisted Civil Site Design Group Nashville for land development consulting, planning and civil engineering.
Design-led hospitality
Ratio Architects has been brought in to come up with the new hotel’s architecture and Manuel Zeitlin Architects is overseeing the design of the building’s interiors. As a Tapestry Collection by Hilton hotel, the property promises to connect guests with the locale through its unique style and vibrant personality.
This forthcoming hotel will form part of the SoBro neighbourhood. The scheme, which is being developed in partnership with Buffalo Lodging Associates, is expected to reach completion in the first quarter of 2022.
