Footballing superstar Cristiano Ronaldo looks likely to triumph yet again as the crowd-pleasing Pestana CR7 Hotel Marrakech prepares to open its doors in 2021.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner is planning a fresh venture into hospitality in the form of a stylish new hotel in Morocco. We find out more about this exciting project.

Ronaldo scores big in Marrakech

Footballers are known for their lavish lifestyles, so a hotel venture spearheaded by one of the world’s most famous players is sure to be a decadent affair. Juventus and Portugal striker Ronaldo, one of the biggest names in the sport’s history, is teaming up with Portuguese hotel group Pestana to bring the hotly anticipated Pestana CR7 to the popular tourist destination of Marrakech.

Originally due to launch this year, it is now expected to open in early 2021 instead. The hotel will be located within the upscale M Avenue retail, leisure and entertainment complex in the centre of the city. Pestana CR7 will be in good company too as it will be situated close to the existing Four Seasons Resort Marrakech.

Fans eagerly await the new Pestana CR7 hotel

Ronaldo is known for his skill on the pitch, but also for his good looks and brazen confidence, so perhaps it’s no surprise that the target demographic of the new Pestana CR7 will be his loyal fanbase of millennials. These discerning travellers typically seek out contemporary travel experiences and Pestana CR7, which takes its initials from the 50% shareholder footballer, will doubtless provide guests with just that.

The five-star luxury newbuild will boast 174 rooms, a stay in one of which will set guests back approximately €200 a night. Visitors will be able to avail themselves of the property’s two onsite restaurants, business centre and state-of-the-art spa.

Pestana already has properties in numerous locations across Portugal, and has plans to expand into Europe and the US, with hotels planned in Madrid and New York.
