Project in focus: Novotel Victoria Island Lagos
Accor is strengthening its presence in Nigeria with the creation of Novotel Victoria Island Lagos alongside the Ekulo Group of Companies and Sundukovy Sisters.
This exciting project looks set to shake up the hospitality scene in the Victoria Island district of Nigeria’s largest city.
Accor builds footprint in Lagos
Accor originally signed a management agreement with Nigerian conglomerate the Ekulo Group of Companies to run the scheme in August 2019.
On opening, Novotel Victoria Island Lagos will provide an appealing new accommodation offering in one of Africa’s biggest commercial and financial hubs. The 162-key property will add to Accor’s continued growth across the nation, which the French hospitality group has previously identified as one of the continent’s most important development markets.
Accor is now focusing on balancing its footprint by developing hotels in key gateway cities, while also catering for gaps in the market through its extensive range of hotel brands.
A new social hub
This new Novotel property will benefit from a prime location on Ahmadu Bello Road, close to the headquarters of multinational corporations and major banks. In this setting, the hotel’s 170 rooms and suites will be joined by an all-day dining restaurant, a lobby bar, a pool bar, a swimming pool, a gym and 400 sq m of meeting space.
With interiors designed by Sundukovy Sisters – Design & Architecture Studio, this property appears destined to stand out as a stylish space for guests and local residents to meet, relax, dine and socialise.
The hotel is currently in the pre-planning phase, with a predicted completion date in 2023.
