Project in focus: InterContinental Residences Halong Bay
by Lauren Jade Hill | 04 Jul 2021 | Projects
IHG is progressing plans to create 101 branded residences, as well as a 175-room hotel, in the popular Vietnamese tourist destination of Halong Bay.
The residential element of this ambitious scheme will pair access to world-class amenities and service with a beachfront address on the famous bay, known for its dramatic seascapes strewn with limestone pillars.
A milestone scheme
Slated for completion in the first quarter of 2023, InterContinental Residences Halong Bay – and the accompanying five-star InterContinental Halong Bay Resort – are now taking shape at Halong City’s gateway in a tranquil setting just outside the main streets of Bai Chay. Both eye-catching projects are currently under construction.
The highly anticipated property is being created in partnership with Halong Investment and Development Limited Company, which is a member of BIM Group, with architecture by WATG and interior design from P49 Deesign and Associates. Lighting Planners Associates Singapore is behind the illumination design and Coopers Hill is taking on the landscape design.
This will be Halong Bay’s first international luxury resort, complete with its very own private beach.
An enviable location
Halong Bay encompasses more than 1,600 islands and inlets. The InterContinental-branded residences and resort here will draw inspiration from this enviable location, while providing views over the bay and its famous limestone karsts.
Altogether, InterContinental Residences Halong Bay will be made up of 60 one- to three-bedroom apartments and 41 villas.
Residents will gain access to all the facilities within the resort, which are to include five restaurant and bar outlets, a spa, a gym, a kids’ club and four pools. Events will be hosted in six meeting rooms, the largest of which will be able to accommodate up to 500 people.
Residents will also benefit from being included in a rental programme, with apartments and villas made available to third-party guests through IHG’s global channels.
