We take a closer look at a five-star hotel development in Egypt involving Hilton Worldwide’s flagship brand Hilton Hotels & Resorts.

Hilton is teaming up with real estate developer Misr Italia Properties to open a new property in Ain Sokhna, a historic port city on the Gulf of Suez. We find out more about this exciting venture.

Hilton’s new Egyptian hotel nears completion

Construction is progressing apace on Hilton Kai Sokhna, which is due to open in Q2 2021. The global hotel giant signed a management agreement with Misr Italia Properties for the scheme way back in March 2017.

Speaking at the time, Mohamed Hany El Assal, Co-CEO of Misr Italia Properties, said: “Misr Italia Properties’ successful partnerships with Hilton confirms our commitment to offering the best services to our customers across all our distinguished projects, whether our residential, tourism, or administrative projects. Partnering with Hilton and its presence within our projects reflects Misr Italia Properties’ leading position in the Egyptian real estate market.”

Carlos Khneisser, vice president, development, Middle East and North Africa, Hilton, added: “Our more than 50 years of operating experience in Egypt places Hilton at the heart of the country’s expanding hospitality offering. With the recently expanded Suez Canal and New Cairo project both attracting significant infrastructural investment, it is the right time for us to revitalise our Egyptian portfolio with new projects in these emerging locations.

“New Cairo’s vision to become a thriving hub for business makes it an ideal location for us to introduce our Hilton Garden Inn brand to the capital and we are keen to explore further such opportunities in the midscale sector in Egypt and across MENA.”

What’s in store at Hilton Kai Sokhna

Hilton Kai Sokhna represents the latest addition to the continually developing Zafarana Road part of the city. It’s a well-connected location that will allow guests to easily reach the centre, as well as Cairo and other Egyptian destinations.

Upon completion, this newbuild five-star hotel will boast 150 rooms and 20 private villas. There will also be six bars and restaurants, a state-of-the-art spa, a fitness centre and convenient access to the beach.

Hilton Worldwide is a leading global hospitality company with a portfolio of brands spanning more than 6,000 properties around the world.
