Choice Hotels International’s upscale brand Cambria Hotels is continuing to expand in urban markets across the US, with work progressing on a 100-room property in Minneapolis.

This six-storey hotel in downtown Minneapolis will place guests within easy reach of the Theatre District and three major sports stadiums.

Building work now underway

Expected to debut in the first quarter of 2022, Cambria Hotel Downtown Minneapolis is now under construction following the signing of an agreement between Choice Hotels International and Hawkeye Hotels’ CEO Bob Patel to develop the property. The 100-key hotel will provide an upscale place to stay that’s close to the Target headquarters, General Mills and 3M, as well as the Theatre District and three sports stadiums: Target Field, Target Center and US Bank Stadium.

Developed by JR Hospitality and Hawkeye Hotels, the newbuild property is being designed by Base4.

A strong connection to the area

Set to showcase locally inspired design elements, Cambria Hotel Downtown Minneapolis will have everything necessary to attract modern business travellers – guests can expect to find contemporary and sophisticated rooms with appealing amenities including spa-style bathrooms and plush bedding.

In addition to its accommodation offering, the hotel will provide 24-hour food and drink options, with menus featuring hyper-local produce and craft beer, alongside wine and specialty cocktails. Additional facilities are to include a state-of-the-art fitness centre, 1,300 sq ft of meeting space and a business centre.

From here, guests will be able to reach several Fortune 500 companies, while also enjoying impressive river views, access to theatres and sports, and opportunities to sample Minneapolis’ thriving food and craft-beer scene.
