Prizeotel to launch two hotels in Dresden by 2022 [Construction Report]
Prizeotel Dresden Mitte – in the heart of the city
Prizeotel aims to boost growth in key markets by growing its brand presence in rapidly developing markets around Germany.
Prizeotel recently announced two new hotels in Dresden, Germany. The properties will begin operations by 2021 and 2022 and mark the group’s growth to 19 properties.
According to Prizeotel CEO Marco Nussbaum, the aim is to expand into core markets and build a presence of several hotels there.
Even after having ended a licensing agreement with Radisson, prizeotel is moving forward with its expansion plans.
Two new properties by 2022
According to a company press release, the prizeotel Dresden-City will open in 2022 in the Neustadt district and provide 213 rooms.
For the second half of 2021, the 125-room Hotel Dresden-Mitte is planned near the train station. Both hotels will be in the 2-star superior segments as are the brand’s other properties.
The two new hotels are designed by American star designer Karim Rashid and feature the funky modern design prizeotel has become well-known for.
Choosing the right destination to build prizeotel’s brand presence
When asked why prizeotel was opening two hotels in Saxony’s capital, Mr Nussbaum cited the growing number of overnight stays and the city’s favourable development in both business and leisure segments.
Three years ago, Dresden applied for the title “European Capital of Culture 2025”, which could multiply tourist arrivals. Establishing a presence in the market before 2025 therefore seems like a good strategy.
The prizeotel Dresden-City’s location is also considered excellent because from there, the trendy district “Äußere Neustadt” is within walking distance, which will be particularly attractive for young city and business travellers.
According to Mr Nussbaum, the double-entry into the city of Dresden reflects the strategy to be present in the core markets with several hotels and use emerging synergies to further growth. “Each additional hotel also strengthens and supports prizeotel’s digital strategy,” adds Nussbaum.
