The Hotel de la Coupole — MGallery by Sofitel is the work of Sun Group in Vietnam
Sun Group, which is currently the leading hospitality investor in Vietnam, officially opened the Hotel de la Coupole — MGallery by Sofitel in end 2018.
The luxurious property is located in Sapa, which is the gateway to northern Vietnam, a mountainous region regarded by many as being filled with awe-inspiring beauty.
The property was designed by Bill Bensley, who has previously been described in the media as “the king of exotic luxury resorts.”
It will be managed by Sun Group’s strategic partner AccorHotels, under the MGallery brand, known for hosting superlative boutique hotels.
The hotel is likely to set a new benchmark for luxury tourism in the Sapa region, at the same time boasting a location that provides guests with access to Mount Fansipan, the 3,143-meter high “roof of Indochina.”
For the uninitiated, the MGallery collection is a set of iconic and stylish hotels, spread across the world. Hotels under this brand have hosted world-famous leaders, celebrities, and authors, among other notable guests.
Each individual hotel draws inspiration from its distinctive surroundings in order to tell a story that is unique to the region or area. The Hotel de la Coupole – MGallery by Sofitel is no exception.
It also holds the distinction of being the first international five-star hotel to open in Sapa, which is located in the Lao Cai province in the north of Vietnam. Hotel de la Coupole – MGallery by Sofitel will fulfill the Sun Group’s dream of restoring Sapa to its tourism heyday, a time when the town was a retreat for French émigrés sojourning in the “Tokenise Alps.”
The list of amenities within the hotel include a heated indoor pool called Le Grand Bassin, a fitness center, Nuages Spa, and Bobbins kids club.
As the only international luxury hotel in Sapa, the resort offers a 435-square-meter ballroom that has space to host as many as 570 guests in theater style with four meeting rooms and two board rooms perfect for small meetings as well as conferences.
The location of the hotel is simply unparalleled. From the new luxury hotel, guests will be adjacent to Sapa market, which offers a range of handicrafts and souvenirs for their perusal. Guests will also be able to explore the mountains with day trips.
The Sun Group has a history of investing in luxury accommodations that help catapult the hospitality market in this region to higher levels of success. InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort and JW Marriott Phu Quoc Emerald Bay — also developed by Sun Group — have helped accomplish this for luxury tourism in Danang and Phu Quoc, respectively.
