Plans unveiled for W Macau – Studio City

Marriott International has teamed up with Melco Resorts & Entertainment to open a spectacular W Hotels-branded property at Studio City Phase 2 in Macau.
Macau is eagerly awaiting the arrival of Marriott International’s fun and edgy luxury hotel brand.
A new lifestyle destination
Following a strategic partnership between Marriott and Melco Resorts & Entertainment, it’s been announced that W Macau – Studio City will open at the same time as Studio City Phase 2, Macau’s new cinematically themed entertainment and leisure destination, in December 2022. It’ll offer guests detail-driven and unexpected design along with the brand’s signature Whatever/Whenever service and innovative programming.
David Sisk, chief operating officer, Macau Resorts of Melco Resorts & Entertainment, said: “Melco is thrilled to welcome W Hotels to Studio City and Macau. W Hotels is without a doubt one of the world’s iconic luxury lifestyle brands that will elevate Studio City’s hospitality offerings to a new level.”
Henry Lee, president in Greater China for Marriott International, added: “Macau’s supercharged energy and unique identity as an entertainment hub, together with its mix of eastern and western culture, makes it a natural fit for W Hotels. In line with Marriott International’s ‘Brand + Destination’ development strategy, we are excited to be partnering with Melco Resorts & Entertainment to introduce W Macau – Studio City and bring the brand’s luxury lifestyle to Macau.”
Wellness and entertainment
W Macau – Studio City will serve as a centrepiece for this development at the heart of Cotai and complement an array of other hospitality offerings, not least a six-screen cineplex, residency shows, state-of-the-art MICE [meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions] space, and one of the largest indoor and outdoor water parks in Asia.
The hotel will comprise 557 guestrooms, including 127 suites, along with wellness amenities like a spa, fitness centre and indoor swimming pool. It promises to enhance Macau’s social scene with a host of public spaces – among them the brand’s fresh take on a hotel lobby, the Living Room – as well as two destination dining venues and a Woobar bar.
Notably, the hotel will also be home to the brand’s signature onsite recording hub, W Sound Studio, and a total of 1,100 sq m of event space.
