The upper-upscale scheme by Hilton Hotels & Resorts will be part of the Palm Lake Monastir retail, entertainment and residential development on the Tunisian coast.

An exciting new scheme for North Africa

On opening, Hilton Skanes Monastir Beach Resort will offer premier accommodation with views across the Gulf of Hammamet in a location that’s within easy reach of Monastir and Sousse.

“As travellers plan their vacations and dream of new destinations to visit, we see great potential to expand our portfolio in resort locations across North Africa,” said Carlos Khneisser, vice president of development in the Middle East and Africa for Hilton. “Tunisia has a rich tradition of tourism and hospitality and we are delighted to be partnering with owner Societe Marhaba Beach to bring Hilton to the beautiful resort of Skanes as we grow our portfolio in locations across the country.”

“We are delighted to form a partnership with Hilton to open a premier resort – part of the Palm Lake Monastir development – a new investment in Skanes that will feature retail, entertainment and residential,” said Hichem Driss, owner of Societe Marhaba Beach. “We are proud to bring Hilton’s renowned hospitality to the Tunisian coast, which will further enhance the tourism offering and international appeal of the destination.”

A Tunisian coastal retreat

The complex will have 332 guest rooms and suites set amid landscaped gardens, complete with uninterrupted Mediterranean views. As well as being able to access the resort’s private beach, guests will have use of two outdoor pools, a spa and wellness centre with indoor pool, fitness facilities, tennis courts and a kid’s club.

As many as eight restaurants and bars will make up the property’s F&B offering, including two specialty restaurants, an all-day dining venue, a specialty bar, a pool bar and two cafe lounges. On top of this, the hotel will have over 700 sq m of event space for business and social occasions.

The new resort will be just two kilometres from Monastir Habib Bourguiba International Airport, which offers seasonal flights to a number of countries across Europe. Hilton is also currently developing two properties in the country’s capital Tunis for its DoubleTree by Hilton and Hilton Hotels & Resorts brands.
