A new Park Hyatt hotel has opened in the Qatari capital of Doha. The new build hotel occupies an enviable location in a newly regenerated part of the city, and as such acts as a gateway to the new Msheireb downtown district. We find out more.

Luxurious oasis in the heart of Doha

Doha recently welcomed a new addition to its hospitality landscape, the Park Hyatt Doha. The Park Hyatt-branded hotel is located in the middle of Doha’s new residential and commercial district, Msheireb, which is at the southern end of the city. This luxurious 5-star new build property has been designed as a landmark building at the entrance to this new district, and its imposing tower will become a feature of the Doha skyline.

Kurt Straub, Hyatt’s vice president of operations for the Middle East, Africa, and SouthWest Asia, spoke of the opening, saying, “We are delighted to bring the Park Hyatt brand to the culturally and creatively rich city of Doha. The Park Hyatt brand is dedicated to creating exceptional and memorable experiences, and we are thrilled to welcome guests from around the world to this very unique location.”

“The introduction of Park Hyatt Doha in Qatar strengthens Hyatt’s vision of being the preferred brand for global travelers and enhances the brand footprint of Hyatt’s luxury portfolio in the Middle East,” he added.

Urban oasis spread over 21 floors

The 21-storey tower is billed as “a luxurious oasis amidst the pulsating capital.” Guests can enjoy the city using one of the property’s 187 guest rooms, which include 28 suites, executive suites and diplomatic and presidential suites, as well as have convenient access to the city’s Hamad International Airport, less than 10 miles away.

All guest rooms have flourishes of Qatari-inspired design, and the hotel boasts a number of fine dining options, including Japanese restaurant Sora and Qatari-French fusion eatery Opus. Corporate guests can avail of the hotel’s ample meeting and conference facilities, while those looking to pamper themselves can retreat to the luxurious wellness centre and spa, spread over two floors.

Stefan Gaessler, the hotel’s general manager, spoke of the property’s focus on sustainability, saying, “We are thrilled to be part of the Msheireb development, Doha’s first sustainable regeneration project. Sustainability runs throughout the design of the project and all its buildings to reduce the project’s carbon footprint and generate less waste, aligning with Hyatt’s sustainability efforts to use resources thoughtfully, build smart, and innovate and inspire for a more sustainable future.”
