Pan Pacific Orchard opens as new tropical oasis in Singapore

A part of the Garden City’s green rejuvenation of Orchard Road, the high-rise hotel has dramatic terraced greenery occupying over 200% of its land area.

The new Pan Pacific hotel was designed by WOHA as a new prototype for high-rise tropical hospitality and is now certified BCA Green Mark Platinum.

High-rise biophilic design

Pan Pacific Hotels Group, a member of Singapore-listed UOL Group, has announced the launch of its latest flagship hotel, Pan Pacific Orchard, Singapore. The 23-storey property was developed by UOL and WOHA Architects was behind the new landmark’s design.

The biophilic structure is designed with the environment in mind, encompassing energy-saving features like rainwater collection, solar panel technology and a bio-digester system, more than 14,000 sq m of foliage and water features and a high-ceilinged open-air lobby.

Four high-volume terraced environments include the Forest, Beach, Garden and Cloud areas with dramatic 120m green columns that create a spectacle of lush flora. Mirrored ceilings reflect each verdant area, from the Beach Terrace’s pools to the Garden Terrace’s lawns. Open-air spaces bring daylight and fresh air indoors.

Commenting on the opening, Marcel NA Holman, Pre-Opening General Manager of Pan Pacific Orchard and Vice President, Operations, China, Indonesia and Japan for Pan Pacific Hotels Group, said: “We are proud and privileged to open the doors to Pan Pacific Orchard today.”

“A significant milestone for Pan Pacific Hotels Group, Pan Pacific Orchard is a new landmark for Singapore’s iconic Orchard Road and a showcase of our brand’s commitment to graceful luxury. Our passionate team is ready to deliver our signature sincere service and create memorable experiences to delight our guests.”

Choe Peng Sum, Chief Executive Officer, Pan Pacific Hotels Group, commented: “With the launch of Pan Pacific Orchard beautifully designed by WOHA, Pan Pacific Hotels Group is making our mark in Singapore’s luxury hospitality segment.”

“It is at the heart of the Pan Pacific mission to deliver authentic and memorable experiences to our guests, and we are excited to showcase our promise of sincere service and our vision of graceful luxury.”

A luxury retreat

Guests arrive at the Forest Terrace to check in to the 347 luxurious rooms and suites designed for comfort with appealing amenities such as 400-thread count cotton bedding and Diptyque bath products. In-room filtered water dispensers and reusable bottles made with ocean-bound material reflect the hotel’s sustainable philosophy.

Through Pan Pacific’s Happy Sleepers programme, guests in the hotel’s suites and Pacific Club Room as well as Pan Pacific DISCOVERY members benefit from a range of additional amenities and services, including in-room meditation and a pillow menu, curated to promote better sleep. Club guests also benefit from additional services, such as late check-out, along with access to the indoor-outdoor Pacific Club Lounge overlooking the Garden Terrace lawns.

During their stay, guests can dine at the hotel’s signature restaurant Mosella, offering the Mediterranean-Peruvian cuisine of executive chef Pedro Samper in a space overlooking the greenscape of Forest Terrace. Within the Garden Terrace, champagne is then paired with fresh oysters at the destination bar, Florette.

The hotel has partnered with Singapore’s first gin distillery, Tanglin Gin, to create an exclusive small-batch gin. Soon, the property will also launch its Atelier-in-Residence programme, hosting a series of made-in-Singapore brands offering workshops, exhibitions and talks.

At this property, events will be held across the 18th-floor of the Cloud Terrace where the centrepiece is the pillarless 600-sq-m Claymore Ballroom featuring a panoramic LED video wall, floor-to-ceiling windows, an outdoor terrace and garden views.
