Pakistani developer AAA Associates has signed a management agreement with Valor Hospitality Partners for a luxurious hotel and residences within a new mixed-use development in Karachi.

Due for delivery in Q2 2025, the AAA Octa 2 tower in Pakistan’s largest city will reach 32 stories in height and accommodate 114 five star hotel rooms and suites across the 11th to 14th floors.

Luxurious facilities

The state-of-the-art property, designed to offer a blend of luxury and comfort, will feature an airy lobby; more than 32,000 sq ft of banqueting space, including a ballroom and meeting rooms; an all-day diner; a bar; 24-hour private dining; an ‘Executive Club’ with a cigar lounge, a cinema and 3D golf net; and a comprehensive wellness and fitness centre encompassing an infinity pool and a holistic spa.

On the skyscraper’s seventh level, the AAA Octa food court will showcase a collection of international and local restaurants. Furthermore, the development will house 314 modern, branded, and serviced residential units.

Mega mall

Within the rest of the development there will be a dedicated ‘Mall Of Streets’ area, offering a luxury shopping experience with world class dining, entertainment and leisure attractions. The new concept will consist of a shopping mall connected through eight artistically designed buildings with eight designated streets serving different niches.

Along with retail, there will be lots of rooftop restaurants atop each building. The floors of each structure will be connected to each other through a glass bridge.

Pakistani presence

Julien Bergue, co-founder and managing partner of Valor Hospitality Middle East, said: “Since announcing our first property last year in Lahore, Pakistan, we are so pleased to grow our presence in Pakistan further, in the beautiful coastal city of Karachi this time. We are very fortunate to be trusted by the visionary and forward-thinking owners and partners of AAA Associates to manage their investment. We are confident the development will offer a great lifestyle choice to investors and guests visiting Karachi for business or pleasure.”

Euan McGlashan, global co-founder and CEO of Valor Hospitality, added: “This is a monumental step for Valor as we continue to expand our global portfolio and, with it, our dedication to providing exceptional experiences and guest services around the world. We’ve learned a lot during our past year in Pakistan and look forward to implementing those practices and embracing the culture in this new endeavour.”

Perfect alignment

AAA Associates chairman Sheikh Fawad Bashir stated: “Partnering with a globally recognised entity like Valor Hospitality Partners aligns perfectly with our vision for this landmark project. As we embark on this journey, we are confident in Valor’s capability to bring unmatched hospitality expertise to the table.”

The developer’s MD, Lt Col Shahzad Ali Kiani, remarked: “Karachi, being Pakistan’s economic nerve centre, is poised for an infrastructural evolution. This project promises to be a landmark addition to the city’s vibrant business ecosystem and its skyline.”

Regional growth

AAA Octa 2 will be Valor’s second property in Pakistan, bringing the global brand’s management portfolio to more than 6,000 keys, with over 900 in the Middle East. The firm’s first Pakistani site will be Hyatt Regency Lahore DHA, which will deliver 94 keys in Q1 2024.

In central Asia, Valor will be managing Deutsche Hospitality’s IntercityHotel Tashkent when it opens in Q2 2024, delivering 122 keys to the Uzbek capital, plus the 1,750-room Petra Sea Resort in Batumi, Georgia, which is due to open in 2025.
