OTO Development, part of The Johnson Group, has announced the opening of the all-suite Hyatt Place National Harbor hotel in Maryland.

An exciting new Hyatt property has begun welcoming guests into its vibrant waterfront space at National Harbor. We take a closer look at this lively area’s latest place to stay.

A vibrant setting in Maryland

Boasting a prime location within the 350-acre shopping, dining and entertainment hub of National Harbor, Maryland, this seven-storey property commands impressive views over the bustling waterfront while also providing a convenient base for exploring the surrounding area.

“National Harbor is a special place.” said Corry Oakes, CEO of OTO Development. “Our new Hyatt Place will allow guests to enjoy the best of the many amenities of this vibrant community. The hotel is truly spectacular and the team is poised to offer genuine hospitality and memorable experiences.”

A waterfront hotel experience

In addition to its waterfront views and prime setting, the 156-room all-suite hotel offers onsite dining, a fitness centre and 1,900 sq ft of flexible meeting and event space. The hotel’s restaurant Bar Harbor provides a casual-dining experience, featuring a menu of artisan pizzas and tacos, which can then be paired with local microbrews.

Meanwhile, an outdoor dining area with firepits and scenic patio encourages diners to enjoy the waterfront’s lively street scene. As well as providing views over the Potomac River, this also allows for a safe dining experience that adheres to social-distancing guidelines.

“I am delighted to welcome guests to stay at Hyatt Place and enjoy a meal with us at Bay Harbor,” said the hotel’s general manager Ted Fleurimond. “The hotel team is outstanding and has worked so hard to prepare every detail for opening day.”

Contributors to this project include general contractor Turner Construction of New York, and architect and interior designer //3877 of Washington DC.
