How the Mövenpick Hotel Amman looks from the outside.

Accor will buy an existing hotel in Jordan’s thriving capital, thereby growing its footprint within the country to nine total properties.

Accor, which is one of the leading hospitality groups on the planet, has increased its footprint in Jordan to nine properties with the recent addition of the Mövenpick Hotel Amman.

This comes after Accor’s takeover and re-branding of another 218-room property located in the Kingdom’s vibrant capital. That property has undergone a refurbishment that puts it in line with the Mövenpick brand’s standards, equipping it with the luxury and premium hospitality guests have come to expect.

It all adds up to a thriving and successful portfolio of great luxury properties in Jordan for Accor.

Mövenpick’s strong presence in Jordan

The Mövenpick Hotel Amman will mark the Swiss brand’s first property in the capital city but its sixth in Jordan overall.

It will be strategically located in the west of the city, near the area’s central business district, with easy walkability to popular malls and major cultural attractions, including the Citadel, Temple of Hercules, Roman Amphitheatre and the Royal Automobile Museum. In terms of transportation, Queen Alia International Airport is also located just 30 minutes away.

Reflagging to Mövenpick is likely to be a strong move for the property, given that the brand resonates well in Jordan because of a existing strong market presence. This particular location is also expected to become a destination for meetings and events, leisure and dining, all without having to leave the heart of the capitol city, an area that is popular with both residents and visitors.

“Raising the first Mövenpick flag in Amman marks a milestone for the brand in the country where its Middle East growth story began and today operates six high-profile properties across Aqaba, Petra and the Dead Sea,” said Michael Nugent, Vice President Operations Levant & Pakistan, Accor. “The new hotel not only complements these popular resorts, but Accor’s three additional properties in the capital, across the Fairmont, Le Grand – soon to be reflagged to Sofitel, and Ibis brands, provides business and leisure travellers with even more choice of quality accommodation options in the capital, from midscale to luxury.”

More about the Mövenpick Hotel Amman

For its part, the Mövenpick Hotel Amman will feature 218 rooms and suites, along with an extensive set of amenities, including four restaurants, seven meeting rooms, and a grand ballroom with space to accommodate as many as 1,200 people.

In addition, there will be an outdoor swimming pool, a gym, sauna, steam room, and an executive floor and lounge. One of the highlights of the property will be a top-floor presidential suite with a balcony that has a Jacuzzi and absolutely stunning views of the city skyline. Also of interest to future guests is the fact that later this year guests will be able to earn benefits there as part of Accor’s loyalty program.
