Omni enters Oklahoma in style

Oklahoma City’s ongoing transformation has been boosted by the opening of a 605-room Omni hotel, featuring an array of F&B venues, extensive event facilities and a full-service spa.
North American hotel brand Omni Hotels & Resorts has made its Oklahoma debut with the launch of Omni Oklahoma City Hotel, a striking new convention-centre hotel.
A landmark Oklahoma City opening
Located in the city’s revitalised downtown area, right next to a streetcar stop, the 17-storey property is being billed as the go-to hotel for visitors to the convention centre, Scissortail Park and Chesapeake Energy Arena, home of the NBA’s Oklahoma City Thunder.
“Those who walk through our doors, whether you’re traveling to Oklahoma City or you are a local enjoying a staycation or a day downtown, will feel an immediate sense of the deep authenticity and rich culture that this city has to offer,” said Omni Oklahoma City general manager Steve Keenan. “Omni will offer a new and elegant way to experience an Oklahoma City adventure as we continuously aim to go the extra mile with every interaction and every gesture.”
Inside, the hotel’s understated, modern design takes its cues from the surrounding bucolic landscape, local industry and Oklahoma’s state bird – the scissor-tailed flycatcher – with details like chevron patterns and textured walls emerging in rustic, earthy tones.
Top-notch facilities
The 605 rooms, which include 29 suites, have views across Scissortail Park and downtown, while the 17th floor has been designed to cater for professional basketball players with California king beds, larger door frames, and taller ceilings and shower heads. Also on the 17th floor is a boardroom, which can be used as a private meeting space for visiting NBA teams; the 76,000 sq ft of event space – with the exception of a 3rd-floor outdoor event lawn – can be found on the 2nd floor.
After a busy day, guests can head to the fitness centre for a workout, or wind down either on the rooftop pool deck terrace or at Mokara Spa, a quiet sanctuary with a menu of treatments, a relaxation lounge and a revitalising sauna.
Elsewhere, there are no fewer than seven drinking and dining options, including Bob’s Steak & Chop House, which serves corn-fed, Midwestern prime beef; and OKC Tao House, a two-storey sports bar that also has its own street-side entrance and outdoor seating. Coming soon are Seltzer’s, Double Double Burger Bar, and Catbird Seat, located on the 3rd-floor pool terrace.
“Omni Hotels & Resorts is laser-focused on its development strategy and, despite the industry impacts of Covid19, our expansion across the Red River reinforces our commitment to that strategy,” said Peter Strebel, president of Omni Hotels & Resorts. “We look forward to extending our genuine hospitality into this tenacious city and becoming a new addition to the downtown skyline that Oklahomans can be proud of.
“Each of our hotels are unique to the community, and Omni Oklahoma City Hotel is no different with a top-to-bottom design that authentically conveys the welcoming spirit of the city.”
