Hemanshu Parwani will help Olson Kundig move forward into an exciting new era. We find out more.

Planning for the future at Olson Kundig

Olson Kundig has announced that Hemanshu Parwani, or ‘HP’ as he is known to friends and colleagues, is stepping up to the position of CEO and will also join the ownership group. It added that Parwani, previously the practice’s COO/CFO, has proven his leadership skills through the impact he has had on the firm’s culture of design excellence across a global portfolio of award-winning hospitality, cultural, residential and workplace spaces.

“I am incredibly humbled and excited to assume this new role in partnership with Olson Kundig’s existing ownership group,” he said. “This promotion offers an incredible opportunity to build on our design talent and strengths, ensuring the firm’s ongoing leadership throughout the design industry for years to come.”

Paving the way for future advancement

The company’s new CEO has worked in international operations, corporate and strategic development for over 30 years. Through this time, he has served as CEO, COO and CFO for a number of international firms across the architecture, engineering and construction sectors.

Parwani joined Olson Kundig in 2018. Since then, he has been responsible for directing operation and finance, including the company’s business and organisational development, as well as human resources, finance, administration and IT.

Before joining the company, Parwani served as CEO for global interior architecture firm Wilson Associates and COO of international operations for multinational engineering firm AECOM. He has lived in Asia, the Middle East and North America.

“We’re extremely proud to have HP as part of the ownership group and as a leader within our firm,” said principal and owner Kevin M Kudo-King. “HP truly understands Olson Kundig’s values, brand and aspirations, and has demonstrated a great ability to help us move the firm forward as an internationally recognised architectural practice.”

“HP’s leadership and guidance has been instrumental since joining the firm,” added principal and owner Kirsten Ring Murray. “His elevation within the office reflects a positive shift in our operational structure that will only strengthen the firm and pave the way for future advancement.”
