Luxury lifestyle brand Nobu Hospitality has inked a deal to enter the Egyptian market with two resorts.

The agreement, with Egyptian real estate developer SODIC, calls for the development of luxury hotels, branded residences and Nobu restaurants in Cairo’s New Zayed area and a site on the country’s north coast.

Coming to Cairo

Nobu Hotel and Residences Cairo in SODIC’s signature development in New Zayed, west Cairo’s up-and-coming neighbourhood, will form an integral part of ‘The Estates Residences’.

Guests and residents will enjoy the proximity of attractions including the Pyramids, the Great Sphinx, and the Grand Egyptian Museum, scheduled to open later this year.

New on the north coast

Spanning 440-acres of beachfront terrain, Nobu Hotel and Residences North Coast Egypt will offer Mediterranean Sea views.

Situated in the Ras El Hikma area, the resort will operate seasonally from May through October.

Perfect complement

Ayman Amer, SODIC’s general manager, commented: “Our partnership with Nobu is a testament to SODIC’s ability to attract world-class international partners.

“Nobu’s iconic brand perfectly complements our signature projects, offering ‘The Estates’ and our newest north coast development communities a seamless and exceptional experience of integrated vibrant hospitality and high-end dining at the highest standards of luxury.”

Luxury and innovation

Trevor Horwell, CEO of Nobu Hospitality, stated: “We are extremely excited about our partnership with SODIC and the launch of these two exceptional projects. Egypt holds a rich history and a vibrant culture, making it an ideal canvas for us to create remarkable spaces that epitomise the essence of Nobu’s luxury and innovation.

“These developments will not only redefine luxury living but also offer a distinct blend of hospitality and lifestyle experiences for our guests and residents.”

Middle Eastern expansion

Nobu Hospitality is also increasing its presence in the nearby Middle Eastern region. Two projects are due to complete in Q1 2024: the boutique 38-key Nobu Hotel Tel Aviv in Israel and the 120-room Nobu Hotel, Restaurant and Residences Al Khobar alongside the Arabian Gulf in Saudi Arabia.

Further ahead, in 2026 Nobu Hotel Saadiyat Island in Abu Dhabi, UAE, will deliver 165 luxury guestrooms and suites, including a Nobu villa, as well as branded residences.
