Nobu Hospitality, the luxury lifestyle brand founded by Nobu Matsuhisa, Robert De Niro and Meir Teper, will have a significant presence in the Elbtower, Hamburg’s new 64-storey landmark building.

A Nobu-branded hotel and restaurant will form a key part of the David Chipperfield Architects-designed Elbtower development by Signa Real Estate. We take a look at what’s being planned.

An eye-catching project for Hamburg

Created in partnership with one of Europe’s leading property companies, Signa Real Estate, Nobu Hotel Elbtower Hamburg will join a wealth of other facilities, including retail and premium office space, within the mixed-use Elbtower scheme.

“We are very happy to be working with Signa in developing the Nobu hotel in the great city of Hamburg,” announced Robert De Niro and Nobu Matsuhisa, founders of Nobu Hospitality.

“We are extremely honoured and excited to be working with Signa on this unique project,” added Trevor Horwell, CEO of Nobu Hospitality. “This is the first project in this growing partnership, and we are exploring other destinations with Signa.”

“The partnership with Nobu Hospitality in the launch of the Nobu Hotel and Restaurant Hamburg underscores the compelling Elbtower development as Northern Germany’s tallest skyscraper,” said Timo Herzberg, CEO of Signa Real Estate Germany. “Hamburg as a destination fits seamlessly within the Nobu hotel and restaurant collection and will be embraced by our prestigious office tenants in the Elbtower as the most exclusive destination in Hamburg.”

Luxury lifestyle and high design

The Elbtower is being designed by acclaimed architectural firm David Chipperfield Architects; rising 245 metres and 64 storeys, it’ll look out over the majestic River Elbe, adding a striking new building to the city’s skyline.

This development is intended to complement the city’s architecturally impressive Elbphilharmonie concert hall and act as an entrance marker to Hamburg’s HafenCity district. It’s envisaged that the ground floor will become a hub for the Elbtower community, which is being positioned as Hamburg’s most attractive place to work, sleep, eat, drink, shop and socialise.

As well as housing the Nobu hotel and restaurant, the development will be home to abundant retail, dining options and co-working space, along with flexible office areas providing views of the city and beyond.

Nobu Hotel Elbtower Hamburg will host travellers across 191 spacious guestrooms and suites, which will be joined by fitness and wellness facilities, a 200-seat Nobu restaurant with private dining rooms and a stylish terrace bar and lounge with river views. On top of this, the hotel will incorporate space for both corporate and social events.

A highlight of the property will be the Nobu private members club, where members will be able to benefit from a private lounge with drinking and dining options, access to the hotel’s wellness facilities and invites to exclusive events.
