NH Hotel group further grows its nhow brand by signing a new project atop a WW2 bunker in the heart of Hamburg.
We take a closer look at this unique establishment.
Hamburg’s new bunker hotel
When Erste Hanseatische Projektmanagement GmbH and property developer Matzen Immobilien GmbH & Co. KG were looking for a partner to run their newest project, NH Hotel Group won them over with their comprehensive proposal and creative plans which work perfectly with the exciting scene in Hamburg’s Schanzenviertel district.
The 136-room nhow hotel will be perched atop the bunker and come with a bar, a café and a restaurant. It is due to be completed by mid-2021.
The pyramid-shaped hotel will be added to the top of the existing bunker and create an eye-catching landmark in the city centre. Ambitious landscaping plans to create a spectacular rooftop garden will make this a truly unique property.
Views from the hotel will also be splendid with vistas of Hamburg’s iconic Elbphilharmonie and the city’s skyline.
More exciting news from the nhow brand
NH Hotel Group is set to keep pushing for more openings of properties under the nhow brand. Currently, the pipeline includes hotels in Rome, Brussels, Santiago de Chile, Lima, Amsterdam, Hamburg and Frankfurt. They will join the current portfolio of hotels in Milan, Rotterdam, Berlin and Marseille.
The brand’s next opening in London is set for 2020. To create a buzz around this event, a giant colourful chameleon was set up outside the new property.
The chameleon is meant to represent the brand’s experimental and disruptive spirit and its ability to adapt to its surroundings.
After its stint in the UK’s capital, the 8-metre long installation will tour all cities where a nhow hotel is being developed.
nhow, NH’s most versatile brand
As NH’s lifestyle and design brand, nhow lives from creating a unique, locally inspired experience at every property.
The idea is to explore and embrace new urban trends and feature contemporary architecture and designs by famous creators such as Matteo Thun (nhow Milan), Rem Koolhaas (nhow Rotterdam and nhow Amsterdam RAI), Karim Rashid (nhow Berlin) and Teresa Sapey (nhow Marseille).
Everything should remain unexpected, surprising and inspiring, from the restaurants and corridors to the lobby and the rooms.
This should enhance the personal experiences guests have and create a wow-factor, making each property a landmark for self-discovery, experimentation and creativity.
