McNeill Hotel Company has announced the opening of a Courtyard by Marriott-branded scheme in Manhattan, Kansas – the 27th property in its portfolio.

The new 127-room Courtyard Manhattan has become McNeill Hotel Company’s first hotel in Kansas.

Hybrid hotel space

This scheme lies at the heart of Aggieville, placing it a short walk from Kansas State University, as well as various dining and shopping options. Nearby sights include Bill Snyder Family Stadium, Bramlage Coliseum, Flint Hills Discovery Center and Fort Riley.

Courtyard Manhattan, led by general manager Tyler Stevens, boasts an innovative lobby space and the brand’s latest contemporary room design, offering hybrid zones for working, sleeping and relaxing, plus mobile check-in and digital keys. During their stay, travellers can also make use of an array of amenities, including a fitness centre and guest laundry.

Meanwhile, both guests and locals can dine in the Bistro and Bistro Bar, serving American-style cuisine, along with Starbucks drinks, cocktails, beer and wines. The hotel also benefits from a terrace with outdoor fire pit and seating area, plus 1,100 sq ft of meeting space.

Sustained growth across the US

Phillip H McNeill Jr, CEO of McNeill Hotel Company, said: “We have a valued partnership with the Marriott brand, and we are pleased to announce the grand opening of this ground-up newbuild for our growing hotel portfolio, which extends our capabilities in property development and our geographic footprint.”

Mark Ricketts, president and COO of McNeill Hotel Company, added: “Manhattan, Kansas is an outstanding community with strong demographics and employment base. The new property features multiple demand drivers, as it serves the local convention and university market, as well as leisure tourists.”

McNeill Hotel Company owns or manages 27 Hilton Worldwide, Marriott International and Hyatt Hotels Corporation properties across the Southeast, Midwest and Mountain West states, with several more properties currently in the pipeline.
