New World Hotels debuts in Malaysia
It’s always a cause for celebration when a new hotel brand opens its first property, so the team over at New World Hotels & Resorts must be popping the champagne after their inaugural offering has opened in Malaysia.
The Paradigm development is a new addition to Petaling Jaya’s skyline and includes hospitality, retail, commercial, entertainment and residential accommodation.
One of the development’s towers hosts the New World Hotel Petaling Jaya on the upper floors. The complex is intended to foster tourism in the area and act as a destination to draw visitors.
GM Jai Kishan says, “It will serve the local market, and tap into synergies from shoppers and mall visitors, tenants, employees in the ‘Class A’ corporate offices, as well as residents in the serviced suites. Our expected guests include domestic and international business travellers aged 30 and above, who value efficiency and reliability. They appreciate an environment where they can get work done effortlessly and a haven for relaxation.”
The brains behind the hotel’s interior design is Singapore-based Avalon Collective Interior Design. They used Malaysian traditions, natural materials and a modern feel in the conception of the design.
The centrepiece of the hotel is the Malaysian wau, a 6-metre native kite, which occupies a space in the lobby, and this is complemented by local sculptures and artworks.
In the 300 guest rooms, Avalon has gone for a minimal, contemporary look and feel, with a neutral colour palette which accentuates the wood panelling, plush carpets and crisp linens.
In the reception and common areas, natural wood, stone and bamboo are used to create a calm and sophisticated environment.
The hotel also offers guests two restaurants at which they can try the very best Malay cuisine, and the lobby is the perfect place to relax and enjoy a cocktail.
New World Hotel Petaling Jaya also boasts the biggest and best rooftop bar in the city, treating guests to panoramic views out over the surroundings.
And finally, a dip in the rooftop infinity pool is the best way to start or end any day.
