Featuring a striking exterior designed by local architect Kris Yao, the 175-room Hotel Resonance Taipei is the first APAC property to join Hilton Worldwide’s Tapestry Collection.
The newbuild Hotel Resonance Taipei rises 14 storeys high and boasts a unique design concept. We find out more.
Tapestry Collection comes to Taipei
The first member of Hilton Worldwide’s Tapestry Collection in APAC, Hotel Resonance Taipei is located in the Happy Village of Zhong Zheng District in the Taiwanese capital, and offers contemporary accommodation to travellers visiting the city. The property is owned by Times Square International Stays Corp, a subsidiary of Prince Housing & Development Corp, under a franchise agreement with Hilton.
Alan Watts, president of Asia Pacific for Hilton, said: “We are thrilled to launch our tenth brand in Asia Pacific with the opening of Hotel Resonance Taipei under our Tapestry Collection brand. To enter the final stretch of a truly unprecedented year with the entry of another one of our market-leading brands in the region is a testament to the confidence we have in the potential of the market, beginning with domestic tourism and drawing international tourists when travel eventually resumes.”
A hotel that tells a story through film
The facade of the contemporary hotel is akin to a reel of film, with each frame effectively recording special moments of life.
The design was conceived by renowned Taiwanese architect Kris Yao and revolves around the concept of a ‘film box’, harking back to the site’s history as a camphor tree farm. Camphor was used as a backing for rolls of film, and this motif can be seen throughout the hotel from the exterior right down to small details in-room.
Guests will be treated to rotating art exhibitions during their stay, satisfying the needs of any culture vultures, while fitness fanatics can work out on the go at the gym and wellness centres on the second and third levels.
“With more than 40 properties currently operating across the Americas, we are excited to expand our global presence in Asia Pacific with the opening of Hotel Resonance Taipei,” said Jenna Hackett, global brand head of the Tapestry Collection by Hilton. “As one of Hilton’s three Collection Brands, Tapestry Collection provides travellers with a unique stay experience in an independent hotel that remains authentic to its destination.
“Our hotels aim to inspire travellers to get out and enjoy a local experience beyond their four walls and I am confident that the unique design and prime location in Taipei’s cultural hub will enable our guests to do just that.”
Tapestry Collection by Hilton is a gathering of original hotels chosen because of a commitment to being anything but generic.
