Radisson Hotel Group has announced the signing of a spectacular resort in the Dominican Republic.

Located on the picturesque beach of Cabeza de Toro, Radisson Blu Resort & Residences, Punta Cana will be just ten minutes from downtown Punta Cana and Punta Cana International Airport. The site also benefits from its proximity to some major local attractions – namely Dolphin Explorer where guests can go swimming with dolphins, and Club Nautico Cabeza de Toro, which offers deep-sea fishing adventures.

Prior to opening as a Radisson Blu property, the resort is undergoing extensive renovations to enhance the overall guest experience.

“While our world looks a little different today, we know travel will return, and we are working diligently to provide the best hotels in top destinations with in-depth cleanliness and disinfection procedures for our guests as soon as they feel safe to travel again,” said Jim Alderman, chief executive officer, Americas at Radisson Hotel Group. “Radisson Blu is showing incredible growth in the Caribbean with upcoming locations in Aruba, Grenada and now the Dominican Republic, which demonstrates our momentum as we move forward in executing our strategic growth strategy.”

The expansive resort will feature 164 suites in total across 12 buildings. A variety of room types are planned, with some suites incorporating full kitchens and eye-catching views over the Caribbean Sea.

Guests will be able to try out the onsite spa, fitness centre, beach, outdoor pool and Jacuzzi, and there will be a small meeting space suitable for intimate events; it is also envisaged that there will be five restaurants serving up varied culinary options including the Caribbean, Italian and a healthy juice bar and deli. Butler service, in-room dining, airport pickups and private check-ins will be offered as well.

The resort is scheduled to open in the fourth quarter of 2020.

According to the TOPHOTELCHAINS online database, 73 hotel projects are currently in Radisson Blu’s pipeline:
