New LOGINN by Achat to launch by 2021 in Mönchengladbach [Infographic]

From 2020, construction is slated to start on Achat Group’s newest property in Mönchengladbach, Germany.

​Mönchengladbach will soon get a new hotel under the LOGINN by Achat name in its Eicken district, the Achat Group announced recently.

Growing the portfolio in a promising city

The two-storey building will feature 110 guest rooms, 25 apartments, four function rooms and a common room. A lobby, lounge, bar and gym are also planned. Construction is scheduled to commence next year, and the opening is scheduled for 2021 or 2022 at the latest.

“As part of the Rhine-Ruhr metropolitan region with its strong industry and economy, Mönchengladbach has great potential,” said Philipp Freiherr von Bodman, CEO of Achat, quoted in the group’s recent release.

So far, the company has not provided any information about the hotel’s category or star rating, or the amount invested into construction.

The group already operates 35 hotels in Germany, Austria and Hungary under several brand names. According to Achat Group, the relatively new LOGINN brand is aimed primarily at business and private travellers who “value a functional, modern and centrally located hotel.”

Incorporating local design elements

The Achat Group is based in Mannheim and the project’s key investor is Berlin FFire Real Estate Management AG. The architect, Fritz Otten, however is from the Rhine-Ruhr region itself.

“We have been working on the project for about a year,” says Otten. After the investors bought the land, negotiations began with Achat Group about upgrading the plot and constructing the hotel.

Otten’s plans are inspired by the surrounding buildings’ architecture and he incorporated their industrial style into his design which includes the characteristic brick look. That way a coherent look is achieved for the entire neighbourhood.

According to the statistic state office it.NRW. Mönchengladbach’s hotel market currently has 30 and 2280 rooms. The average occupancy was 39.7% in the first quarter of this year – slightly below the national average.
