New hotel opening: Mandai Rainforest Resort by Banyan Tree

Mandai Rainforest Resort by Banyan Tree marks Banyan Group’s 100th resort and debut in Singapore

Mandai Rainforest Resort by Banyan Tree recently opened in April and offers a nature-inspired stay where every element, from the design details to the structure itself, has been created to harmonize with the environment. Nestled within the Mandai Wildlife Reserve, the 4.6-hectare resort provides direct access to renowned zoological parks such as Singapore Zoo, Night Safari, River Wonders, Bird Paradise, and the upcoming Rainforest Wild.

Immersive stays inspired by nature

The 338-room resort, designed by WOW Architects, was designed around the mature trees on the site, while the wings of the resort have been elevated from the ground to accommodate the movement of native wildlife. Biophilic design is at the heart of the resort’s architecture, influencing every aspect from experiences to signature amenities and services:

  • Treehouse Villas | 24 elevated treehouses with private patios
  • Main Resort Building | A five-story structure with 314 guest rooms and suites, offering panoramic views of the rainforest, gardens, and reservoir
  • Nature-Inspired Guest Rooms | Rooms celebrate rainforest biodiversity with artwork of native wildlife and forest layers
  • Sustainable Features | Naturally ventilated rooms, openable windows, rainwater recycling, and interactive energy usage displays
  • Meranti Ballroom | 300-seat event space inspired by forest mythology and the Bridal Veil Stinkhorn mushroom, ideal for celebrations and conferences
  • Bridal Room | Private, conveniently located suite next to the ballroom
  • Banyan Tree Spa | Spa sanctuary featuring keratin-scale-inspired treatment pods and rooms, offering traditional Asian therapies and natural remedies

Where every detail tells a story

Guests arriving at Mandai Rainforest Resort are welcomed by two preserved heritage trees—a 12-meter Rain Tree and an Indian Beech—symbolizing the resort’s harmony with nature. The expansive canopy and soil-enriching qualities of these trees enhance the sense of a rainforest retreat. Inside, nature-inspired lighting and upcycled wood furnishing create a warm, organic atmosphere. As part of Banyan Tree Hotels & Resorts‘ legacy to honor each destination, resort associates also share local stories and cultural insights to deepen guests’ connection.
