A stylish Moxy Mexico City is set to open in 2022 and attract art-loving travellers to one of the capital’s most vibrant and most popular neighbourhoods.

Marriott has signed a deal to bring their successful lifestyle brand Moxy to Mexico City.

The hip, youthful brand will land in the Mexican capital in 2022, with a prestigious location overlooking Reforma Avenue.

We find out more.

Moxy in Mexico City

Marriott’s millennial-focused lifestyle brand, Moxy, is preparing to make its debut appearance in Mexico City. This is made possible by a new deal signed between the international hotel giant and local organisation Grupo Elipse.

Moxy Mexico City will boast 120 rooms in an enviable location in Chapultepec close to the trendy Roma Norte neighbourhood and looking towards the Reforma Avenue skyline.

Representatives from both groups commented on the project, with Ricardo Czukerberg of Grupo Elipse saying, “We are thrilled to bring the Moxy brand to Mexico and provide a new go-to location for next-gen travellers. It’s exciting working with Marriott International, and drawing on the expertise of this global travel powerhouse gives us high confidence in the project’s success.”

Laurent de Kousemaeker, Chief Development Officer, Marriott International in the Caribbean and Latin America, continued, saying, “Moxy is a great fit for Mexico City, a destination known for its vibrancy, youthful energy, and dynamic arts culture and we see significant potential for this brand throughout Mexico and Latin America. We are pleased to collaborate with Grupo Elipse and look forward to working with them on this milestone project.”

New experiences in Mexico City with Moxy

While Moxy already operates in the region of 50 properties across North America, Europe and Asia Pacific, this will be the first time that a Moxy hotel will welcome guests in Mexico City.

The brand hopes to offer new and exciting experiences to youthful millennial travellers landing in the vibrant Mexican capital. The new-build property will boast a fantastic roof terrace where a buzzing bar will afford guests panoramic views over the Reforma Avenue skyline in the nearby Roma area.

Grupo Elipse will curate an on-trend F&B programme, while the design will reflect the industrial chic aesthetic that appeals to Gen Z travellers. Construction on the property will begin this year and is due for completion in 2022.
