Minor introduces Avani to the Maldives

Minor Hotels’ Avani brand will make its Maldives debut in early Q2 2023 with a new development on the Baa Atoll UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.

Avani+ Fares Maldives Resort will be the Minor group’s sixth property in the country.

Private island luxury

The private island resort will be the first hotel opening in this highly coveted area of the Maldives for more than three years.

A newbuild property, it will be home to a variety of accommodation options including beach pool villas,four-bedroom beach pavilions and three-bedroom over-water villas. Interiors will feature stylish modern design to maximise space, as well as ergonomic lighting and tech-focused amenities.

Dining options

Avani+ Fares will have an array of facilities for dining, fitness, water sport recreation and pampering spa treatments. Seven restaurants will serve a selection of Maldivian and international-inspired cuisines, in addition to private beach and in-villa dining.

Each venue will aim to give guests a variety of culinary choices whilst minimising carbon footprint with seasonal ingredients. Organic produce will be sourced from the resort’s mini farm and catch of the day delivered daily by local fishermen. Young guests can use the first kids-only restaurant in the Maldives.

Fitness and wellness

AvaniFit’s new gym concept will offer fitness programmes designed in partnership with a high-performance coach, while AvaniSpa which will provide various rejuvenating treatments alongside wellness options. There will also be an AvaniKids area onsite.

Elsewhere in Asia, the Avani brand will soon appear in Cam Ranh, Vietnam, with the 615-key Avani Cam Ranh Resort & Villas by the end of this year. Further ahead, the marque will land in Bahrain in Q1 2024 with the 110-room Avani Bilaj Al Jazayer Bahrain Resort and double its Malaysian presence with the 378-key Avani Kota Kinabalu in Q1 2026.
